Re-watched this classic comedy from 1990 that I watched first with my parents back in the days.

My brother Konrad of 13 years thought it funny. It’s very close to, but not quite there, slapstick nature makes for moments that all can enjoy.

Most of the jokes have aged well, but some will today be perceived as edgy.

As an adaptation, I truly hope this movie makes more sense to readers of Ursula Le Guin’s books.

I found the plot to be rather weak and it did not help me emphasize with the characters.

Insane and crazy movie with a funny and interesting (very meta) plot that surprises you in its well-craftedness. Very Nickolass Cage-y!

A weird fusion between Holywoody and intelligent character-driven, but leaning towards the former.

Rewatched this with my brother Konrad. He’s totally loving the Ghibli movies and it is a joy to wath them with him.

As a any true Miyazaki movie it’s beautifully animated and has a multi-layered story.

Watched with little brother Konrad (12), he understood less of this than of Castle in the Sky. He still seemed to enjoy it though.

Watched it with my little brother Konrad (12 years old). Brilliant. These movies always seem a bit boring to him in the beginning but he ends up being interested every time.

Having read the book, I know that this movie adaptation is not true and accurate.

That being said however, this is a great family movie and my little brother (11y) loved it.

I watched this over winter break with my family. Fine movie, amazing animations and score.

Pixar does not disappoint.
